The Legends Senior Bowl was not only formed to honor the legacy of Byran Strittmatter, but also serves as a platform to further the foundation’s mission, bringing together individuals and communities to support student-athletes and celebrate the spirit of sports and education. The Legends Senior Bowl provides a unique opportunity for student athletes to learn from the area’s top coaches, showcase their talents to college scouts, and participate in one last high school game.

The 3rd annual Legends Senior Bowl will be coached by two of the region’s most iconic and decorated figures: Craig Jefferies and Terry Changuris.
Coach Craig Jefferies boasts a decorated coaching career spanning over four decades in the DMV. Best known for establishing a dynasty during his 15 years as Head Coach at Dunbar High School, Jefferies guided the Crimson Tide to 13 consecutive DCIAA Football Championship appearances, capturing 8 city titles, while compiling an extraordinary 130-37 record. A 10-time DCIAA West Coach of the Year and 1999 Washington Post All-Met Coach of the Year, Coach Jefferies also led teams to three consecutive NFL High School Player Development National Passing League Championships (2005–2007). Notably, during his legendary run at Dunbar, Coach Jefferies developed and mentored future NFL First-Round picks and Pro Bowl legends Vernon Davis and Vontae Davis. Beyond high school, Coach Jefferies served on the staff at the University of New Mexico, coached in prestigious showcases like the U.S. Army All-American Bowl and the Big 33 Classic, and has mentored dozens of student-athletes into successful collegiate and professional careers.
Coach Terry Changuris will forever be remembered as one of Maryland’s finest high school football coaches. Over a 16 year tenure as Head Coach at Seneca Valley High School, Changuris built one of the most dominant programs in state history, compiling an eye-popping 158-31 record and capturing seven state championships before stepping down in 2003. A Maryland Coaches Hall of Fame inductee, Changuris also won five additional state titles as an assistant coach, contributing to a remarkable family legacy that accounts for 18 state championship banners at Seneca Valley. Coach Changuris’ relentless commitment to excellence, mentorship, and player development has left an incredible mark on generations of athletes across the state.
